Evangelist Craig Hobbs
THE CRAIG HOBBS EVANGELISTIC ASSOCIATION
Things are coming together for our August trip to Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana in Africa. Pastor Steve Gallagher and I will be there for three weeks with our plan including two crusades, two FOFM Evangelism Conferences, counselor training, and ministry in churches. Pray for Dalitso as he travels there in June to make final preparations.
I was blessed to be invited to Bedford, Iowa, recently for an eight-day crusade under a big tent. Actually, I was the substitute evangelist for another who was unable to be there. God’s plan was carried out, and at least five people made public professions of faith in Christ. We should always be ready to find our place and time in God’s wonderful plans!
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” (Ephesians 5: 1-2)
When working with horses, if you show kindness and patience, you can develop a bond with the horse after just a few minutes. They want to follow your every move and look to you for protection and guidance. If you make any sudden movements, they are flight animals, and that is their defense in the wild. But the more you show kindness and calmness and patience, and the more you reward them with love, the more they trust you.
Sometimes they are stubborn and want their own way, but if that is allowed, it will lead to destruction and worthlessness. You must lovingly guide them back to doing what is right.
This reminds me so much of how we are with God and how He is with us. We are all sinners, and we want our own way. We freak out when things don’t go our way or when things in our life cause fear or pain. Our Heavenly Father loves us. He is patient and kind, and He tries to guide us back to Him. He will lead us down a path that will result in joy. When we are stubborn, God nudges us to do what is right. Sometimes we don’t listen, and we are headed for destruction, but the Lord is always there and rewards us when we return. If we continue going the wrong way, He is longsuffering, but our disobedience can lead to His hand of protection being lifted from us. He will allow us to exercise our free will, sometimes even to great harm in our lives.
Let’s follow Christ and be the best we can be. It is ALWAYS best to be under His guidance!
From My Heart to Your Heart,
Flame of Fire Ministry
On a recent trip to the southern border of Malawi, I was denied a visa to enter Mozambique. Since we already had a plan in place in Mozambique, part of the team that was allowed to cross the border went on, and I was left in the border village of Marka.
It became apparent early in my time in the village that this was God’s plan all along. The ministry opportunities seemed unending over the next two days. By the time the others returned from the successful ministry in Mozambique, we could also report a great harvest in Marka. Once back together with our team, we traveled deep into the bush to Fatchi Village where we found hundreds of people hungry to hear about the hope in Christ. We also learned of places deeper in the mountains that had never heard the gospel, and we have sent some of our team back there to begin reaching those villages. It was a great reminder that God’s ways are higher than our ways and His plans are always best.
